This section of the newsletter is designed to keep you up to date on the latest from our in-house developed online ordering service, EzyPrint. During the past month, a lot of back-end, administration pages have been updated to speed site updates and useability, which will soon be reflected in some of the front-end user interface sections also.
Primarily, the updates so far include moving all of the administration pages to use the recent AJAX technology developed by Microsoft. AJAX allows pages to be updated without a full refresh of the browser window. So instead of having to wait for an entire page to refresh just to update a small part of the window (eg if you are just updating a template name), the browser just updates the changed areas only, without a screen refresh. This speeds up the browsing and updating experience enormously.
As soon as all of the updates to the administration pages have been done, I am also keen to use this technology in the main design view for users. Imagine having your business card proof preview updating almost instantly without having to wait for the whole screen to refresh! I will update you on the progress next month.
