Printing plates are one of the most important components in offset printing, where the inked image is transferred (or "offset") from a plate to a rubber blanket, then to the printing surface.

Process-less plates have a number of advantages over conventional ctp (computer to plate) plates. For a start, they are more environmentally friendly, since there are no processing chemicals. They are also capable of producing more consistent results, since they are not affected by changes in the processing chemicals. And, since there is no processor, they take up less space, and are easier to use than conventional plates.
